IUB-AAUP Executive Committee Endorses Bloomington Faculty Council Call
for IU Administration to Join in Creating a Big Ten Alliance Mutual Defense Compact Against Political Threats to Higher Education (April 15, 2025)

On April 6, the faculty senate at Rutgers University adopted a resolution calling on the Rutgers administration to advocate for all eighteen Big Ten universities to unite their efforts and share their resources to protect Alliance member schools from the spreading attacks of the Trump administration.

On April 8, departing from its scheduled agenda, the Bloomington Faculty Council (BFC) endorsed the call of the Rutgers Faculty Senate by adopting an identical resolution addressed to the administration of Indiana University.

The IUB-AAUP Executive Committee applauds the quick and decisive action of our colleagues in faculty governance and endorses the resolution adopted by the BFC.
